Homemade Ham and Bean Soup is as Southern as you can get.  It is inexpensive, and big pot will serve the whole family with leftovers.  The best thing is, it reheats and is just as great the next day.   In the video, there is cornbread on the plate.  Cornbread has always been included in southern meals.  I have a video for making this as well.
